As with any task or job, the right tools make all the difference in the world. If I want to drive a nail, I will be much better off with a hammer than a bare hand. Christian discipleship is no different. The New Testament teaches us that we are to be disciples of Jesus becoming more and more like Him everyday. But this does not happen by itself. It takes effort, in concert with the Holy Spirit, to journey toward maturity in Christ and our efforts can be enhanced by using high quality tools. The resources below are just that. They are high quality tools that can help the believer move forward in their endeavor to be more Christ like.
Bible Reading Plans
One of the best ways you can grow in discipleship is to spend time in the Word of God. Two of the spiritual greats, King David and the Apostle Paul remind us:
How blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the LORD. How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, who seek Him with all their heart. – Psalms 119:1-2 (NASB)
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work, – 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NASB)
So make a commitment to spend time in God’s Word everyday. For anyone who wants to build their relationship with God, spending time in the Scriptures is essential. Here are some resources that will help to focus your time, chart your progress, and help you be accountable to read and study the Bible daily.
